GETTING TO THE RACE
El Gouna Half Marathon takes place on Friday, October 11th, 2019.
It is the responsibility of every participant to make their way to El Gouna, which is located only 25 kilometers from Hurghada. Participants travelling from abroad should book a flight to Hurghada International Airport, while those travelling from within Egypt can take a short one-hour flight from Cairo and other major cities. Alternatively, participants can use a transportation service such as Go Bus, or travel to El Gouna using their private vehicles.

-Race Pack Pick-Up & Briefing: GSpace
-Start Line Zone: Downtown, next to GSpace, across from El Gouna International School
-Finish Line Zone: Abu Tig Marina, near HSBC Branch

There is parking available near the Start Line Zone, where participants will be able to park before the race begins.
Participants should note that there is no baggage claim at El Gouna Half Marathon. Runners are advised to leave their belongings at their homes or hotels, in their parked vehicles, or with friends and family.
RACE PACK PICK-UP & BRIEFING SESSIONS
Race Pack Pick-Up and English & Arabic Briefing Sessions will take place at GSPACE.
Thursday, October 10th
Race Pack Pick-Up: 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Arabic Briefing: 8:00 pm
English Briefing: 8:30 pm
Friday, October 11th
All Races Begin in Downtown, next to GSpace: 9:00 am
Closing Ceremony at Abu Tig Marina: 11:30 am
Final Cut-Off Time for All Races: 12:00 pm
Runners should visit GSpace and pick up their race packs, including their race numbers and race bracelet, from the day before, Thursday, October 10th.
There will be very limited ability to pick up race packs on the morning of the event, reserved for those participants who will be arriving to El Gouna late on Thursday night. In such cases, runners should notify the organising body beforehand by emailing , and visit GSpace between 7 am and 8 am on Friday morning,
START LINE ZONE
The Start Line Zone is where all athletes must head to on the morning of October 11th, 2019.
The Start Line Zone will be right next to GSpace, and across from El Gouna International School.
All runners (21K, 10K, & 5K), must be there by 8 am, as all races will commence at 9 am sharp.
You must have your Race Number & Race Bracelets with you when you arrive at the Start Line Zone.
At the Start Line Zone, you will find the following:
Ambulance (for last minute medical needs)
Start Line Zone Stage for final announcements
10 minutes before the race start time, runners will be directed to the Start Line to begin their race.

5:00-9:00 pm........Athlete Registration & Race Pack Pick-Up
Friday, October 11th, 2019
8:00 am.....Event venue opens
9:00 am.....All races begin (21K, 10K, 5K)
11:30 am.....Awards Ceremony
12:00 pm...Final cut-off time
FINISH LINE ZONE
After you complete your race you will cross the Finish Line. There you will be able to:
Receive your race medal!
Help yourself to water & refreshments
Visit the Medical Tent for any medical problems
Head to the Spectator Zone to see your friends and family
Take fun photos and pictures at the Finish Line installed there
Attend the Awards Ceremony, where the winners will be announced
The event wouldn’t be the same without friends, family, and spectators cheering on the runners! Spectators can accompany participants to the event in the morning, and are encouraged to support them on the course as they run throughout El Gouna.
Please note that spectators are not permitted to cross the Finish Line with runners.
